The program for Arkitrek Camp5 is to complete the Marine Conservation Program Learning Centre (MCP Centre) which was built by the inaugural Arkitrek Camp in May 2011. The original design was conceived to span the public right of way which wends along the shoreline of Mantanani Island, linking two villages.

The MCP Centre is a publically accessible building which is used by Camp Borneo to conduct their Marine Conservation awareness program. It’s strategic location also makes it a talking point for tourists, a shady halt for islanders and a playground for kids on their way to and from school. Cultural shows and dive briefings also take place there and the variety of shady nooks and ledges make it an ideal retreat from the heat of the midday sun.

The extension will bridge the footpath to add a lockable store, more public seating and a shop area to display and sell handicrafts, driftwood art and snacks.

This three week Camp with a well defined project brief would be ideally suited to students and professionals with limited holiday time.

COST The cost per person for this trip is GBP £1550 per person. This is based on a minimum team size of 8 and a maximum of 15.
