Rahim Bin Mudin
Social responsibility towards build environment is my new struggle and commitment
explains Rahim “Respecting local culture and heritage is a core value which is instilled in me in order to see development balanced in all aspects.”
Rahim is a local Sabahan who truly loves the uniqueness of his homeland, which is richly blessed with nature diversity and culture. Rahim graduated with BA(Hons) Architecture from the University of Portsmouth UK and has a Diploma in Interior Design from Universiti Teknologi MARA, Malaysia. Before joining Arkitrek, Rahim gained more than 7 years of work experience in landscape architecture and interior design.
Disappointed with development that neglects local art and culture, Rahim is led to work that tends to go with his personal values. His passion is in nature and building conservation, together with outdoor activities and arts.
Working at Arkitrek, Rahim is very excited to equally share his knowledge and experience to the locals like Mantanani islanders and Murut community in the Ulu Maligan in promoting their cultural and artistry values in every project that he is involved in. Most of the building materials used are derived from local sources and provide economic opportunities to local communities.
Rahim hopes to continuously expand and learn new things to benefit the overall local community. “This is a real personal satisfaction for me” he concludes.
